Nazi James Fields is guilty on all ten charges, including the first degree murder of Heather Heyer

A jury needed a little more than seven hours to convict self-avowed Nazi James Alex Fields Jr, of Maumee, Ohio, in the killing of Heyer during a “Unite the Right” rally in Virginia on Aug. 12, 2017.
After deliberating, a Charlottesville jury convicted the Nazi of first degree murder and multiple counts of aggravated malicious wounding.

Fields faces life in prison during sentencing. That phase begins Monday when jurors will hear personal testimonies from those supporting Fields and those left affected by his crimes. Once that is complete, the jury will discuss sentencing in private then come out of seclusion to make their recommendation.

In the Virginia case, Fields was found guilty of five counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of malicious wounding, one count of felony hit and run, and first degree murder.

As the trial began a group in Idaho called The Road to Power sent residents of Charlottesville a disturbing robocall that made anti-Semitic and racist claims about the death of Heather Heyer.

The robocall made multiple false, racist and anti-Semitic claims, including blaming Charlottesville Councilor Mike Signer, who is Jewish, and former police chief Al Thomas, who is black, of conspiring to make Fields a scapegoat in Heyer's death last year during the white nationalist 'Unite the Right' rally.

Thirty federal charges are still waiting for Fields. Mostly related to hate crimes, one federal charge accusing Fields of murder during the commission of a hate crimes can result in the death penalty.
